Memorable experiences are built before the first guest arrives
Every event begins with the same question: how do we want people to feel? From there you work backwards through everything that has to be true for that feeling to happen — safely, on time, and within budget.
Complexity is the norm
- Map the stakeholders early. Know who needs what, and when.
- Over-communicate. In a live environment, shared understanding beats a perfect plan.
- Plan for the day going sideways. Tabletop exercises turn surprises into decisions.
Calm is a deliverable
On event day, the Event Control Room is where planning meets reality. Working alongside field producers and emergency services, I learned that composure is contagious. When the coordinator stays calm and clear, the whole operation steadies.
